This Wave and Ball Pattern Pewter Mezuzah is inspired by nature, primitive art, and modern art. The aesthetic emphasizes pure futuristic and organic lines which incorporate industrial and ethnic styles. The result: symbolic and original designs. This mezuzah case is made with high-grade lead-free pewter, a soft metal easily forged, molded, and cast.
The Meir Collection Mezuzot are made in the U.S.A. and can be found in galleries, selected stores, museum shops, judaica shops, and synagogue shops throughout the country.
About the Material
Pewter has managed to survive throughout the centuries due to its unique material properties. As a casting medium, the combination of primarily tin mixed with small amounts of copper and antimony, has garnered a long-lasting respect among those who appreciate fine objects d'art. Pewter is prized for its workability, value, & beauty. In the Meir Collection only the finest quality pewter is used, which is lead-free and food safe.
To maintain the beautiful luster of your Mezuzah case, wash it by hand in warm soapy water, then rinse and towel dry with a soft cloth. If you wish to polish it, there are various paste, or crème cleaners and polishing compounds on the market for maintaining pewter. You may also combine baking soda with water or vinegar to form a paste. Rub the paste on the piece with a soft cloth (slight bubbling may occur). Thoroughly wash, rinse and towel-dry the piece.
